Yesterday I heard this quote, "Don't be afraid to live life," and it sparked a lot of emotions in me.

How often do we let fear make us:

• forgo asking a question we really want to know the answer of
• pass the guy from class 100 times without saying hello (even though we fantasize about bearing his fruit ;) )
• not apply for the job we've always wanted
• wait day after day after day to start the diet plan that we've always wanted to start

I found motivation in this small token of wisdom, "Don't be afraid to live life," and from now on, I am going to stop letting emotions rule my actions. I am a strong woman that deserves to find power in her actions, not regret and weakness.

Joselyn is now nearly a month old, but her first month has been different than most infants'.

Born with Gastroschisis, a problem where the baby's intestines grow outside the body while in the womb, baby Joselyn faced immediate post-birth surgery.

Joselyn spent about a month in the hospital, and she is improving beyond belief.

Today I saw a picture of Joselyn in her new "4 pound" baby car seat; her mom was practicing for their morning adventure of bringing Joselyn home from the NICU for the first time.

Like I said earlier, Joselyn has guts.

Any human who can come out of the womb weighing only 3.5 lbs, without her intestines in her body, and fight her way to health in under a month, must be stronger than any grown adult I know.
